Creative Opportunity Flows for Blackburn Student - Part of news

creative opportunity flows for blackburn student

Blackburn College graphic design student Jason Groves is celebrating even before he's finished his graphic design degree, following the news that he has secured a full time position as a designer with award-winning Blackburn design agency Fluid Creative. The first on his course to secure a full time design role, the talented 21 year old is also in the running for a top national YCN Award having reached the final four.

Jason, who is set to qualify this summer, spent three months in 2008 with Fluid Creative and impressed them so much with his work that when they decided to expand, Jon Greenwood, Creative Director, didn't advertise, "It's great to see young people like Jason taking the graphic design route for a career and we were really impressed with his level of creativity. After working with him last year, we are confident that he will be a great addition to the team."

Jason may have something else to celebrate shortly as he made the final four in a national design competition run by the Young Creative Network. The talented young 21 year old is optimistic about his chances of success. "I've been working on the project for 6 months now and it's been hard work but really rewarding too. Fingers crossed for a win!"

As well as praising Jason's work, Fluid's Jon Greenwood had some words of encouragement for Jason's fellow design students, "We always receive requests for summer placements from graphic design students, but what made Jason stand out was the excellent portfolio of work he sent in. It is hard trying to get yourself noticed in such a competitive industry, but there are people out there like us who understand that some of the best graphic design work comes from fresh talent, straight out of college."

Fluid launched in Blackburn in 2008 and celebrates its first birthday next month.
